Mid-Century Ceramic Vase W-GERMANY
Vintage pitcher vase of rare graphic elegance, emblematic of West German ceramic production from the 1950s. This piece with an architectural shape, referenced under mold number 698-23, embodies the fusion of modernist design and post-war craftsmanship (the "Mid-Century Modern" period).
Its reserve decoration is a technical feat: a glossy white glaze, with a swirling organic pattern, is precisely applied on a deep matte black background, creating a dramatic visual contrast. The silhouette is generous, featuring an ergonomic handle and a pronounced spout. The interior surprises with a bright and deep petroleum blue glaze. The base bears the double incised inscription "698-23" and "W-GERMANY," attesting to its origin.
The overall condition of the body is excellent. However, like any authentic piece that has lived, it shows some traces of its history: a lack of glaze is visible on the handle, and the edge of the spout has discreet signs of use.
